Protein Forest digital Proteome Chip (dPC) technology

Monday, 30 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Millennium Science Pty Ltd

Protein Forest has developed digital Proteome Chip (dPC) technology that fractionates and concentrates proteins or peptides by isoelectric focusing for mass spec analysis and western blotting.

Rich, high-quality mass spectrometry data is greatly affected by sample processing upstream to the instrument as well as by the analysis methods used afterwards. The dPC platform seamlessly integrates with the mass spec workflow, giving improved reproducibility, and depth of coverage.

dPC chips are precision manufactured to have a difference of 0.05 pH units between adjacent gel plugs. This gives the ability to fractionate and concentrate samples by isoelectric focusing, enabling separation of proteins or peptides often found in the same fraction by other technologies.

The dPC platform is compatible with a wide array of sample types, workflows and instrumentation. The seamless integration of the technology ensures that the benefits of high-resolution fractionation and reproducibility provide for an accelerated rate of discovery.
