Xenometrix Ames MPF and Ames II assay kits
Xenometrix Ames MPF and Ames II assay kits can be used to screen pharmaceutical compounds for mutagenicity before they are considered for clinical trials. The kits are modified to use liquid culture instead of agar plates.
The Ames MPF assays use TA98 and/or TA100, TA1535, TA1537, E.Coli WP2 uvrA, E.Coli WP2 pKM101. All these tester strains are recommended in the current, formal European test guidelines.
The Ames II assay comprises TA98 and TAMix, consisting of six histidine mutant Salmonella tester strains, TA7001-TA7006. Each of these mutants can be reverted only by one specific transition or transversion, so that all possible base-pair changes can be detected by TAMix.
The Ames MPF and Ames II assay kits are designed to reduce the amount of test compound, hands-on time and consumables.
