Mattick resigns from Benitec board
Wednesday, 09 October, 2002
The co-director of Queensland' Institute for Molecular Bioscience, Prof John Mattick, has resigned from his position on Benitec's board of directors while he is in Germany on a sabbatical.
Benitec's managing director, James Anderson, said that the company expected that Mattick would again become a director on his return in early 2003.
Mattick has retained his position as chair of the Brisbane company's scientific advisory board.
"We don't believe it will affect us, it's a temporary thing," said Anderson. "If he is out of the country, he'll be very busy and it would be difficult for him to make contributions."
