Plant and Animal Cell Biology

Monash University's Biological Sciences will be offering a course entitled `Molecular Genetic Techniques for Plant and Animal Cell Biology'. The course will be held from 27 November to 1 December 2000.

The course covers topics such as DNA/RNA isolation and analysis; culture and genetic transformation of plant and animal cells and tissues in vitro; PCR procedures; microsatellite DNA analysis in population and conservation genetics; applications of confocal microscopy; in situ hybridisation; and DNA sequence analysis.
