The biotechnology group, Progen Industries, an Australian listed firm, has just reported a manufacturing supply agreement with BresaGen to produce bacteria containing equine growth hormone (somatotropin).

Progen will manufacture the recombinant bacteria which contains the hormone. BresaGen will purify the growth hormone and transform it into EquiGen, which benefits ageing animals and horses requiring enhanced tissue turnover.
