Penny & Giles Computer Products has a range of 50 mm diameter trackerballs aimed at demanding applications like the industrial, medical and military markets. The trackerballs incorporate a design using PTFE coatings with the end result being a very smooth seal without the 'stickiness' normally associated with dustproof trackerball designs.
The trackerball has an under panel body depth of 28 mm and a plan area of 82 x 82 mm. The ball is removable for cleaning and the force applied by the seal can be adjusted to suit the application.
A full range of interface options is available including RS-232 and TTL data stream. Most protocols are supported including IBM PC, PS2, RS-6000, DEC, SUN and Silicon Graphics.
