Automated plate storage

Kendro Laboratory Products has extended its range of robot-accessible storage solutions for automated assay systems with the introduction of the Heraeus Cytomat 44 - a compact and flexible solution designed to provide stable storage conditions and to minimise assay variance.

The Cytomat 44 allows for the storage of up to 924 standard microplates at a temperature range of -20 to +20°C. It is available in two different versions with humid atmosphere for water-based samples or with dry atmosphere for storing compounds in DMSO or other hygroscopic matrices.

Thanks to sturdy casters and its small footprint, the mobile unit fits through standard doorways and allows samples to be transported between locations in controlled environmental conditions. An optional docking station ensures exact positioning and repositioning of the storage device.

All 44 stackers can take any of the SBS size microplates currently available. They are easily accessed, removed or replaced via the dual opening front doors with a minimum of disruption.

The Heraeus Cytomat 44 is designed for ease of integration and a high level of user flexibility, fitting into any automated assay systems. The automated Plate Shuttle System and access door can handle all microplate types, including deep-well plates and can easily be re-configured on site with a new simple-to-use installation software.
