Gonetec has added the Osmomat Auto multiple sampler to its cryosopic range of osmometer units for the determination of osmolality in aqueous solutions.

The Osmomat Auto allows up to 20 samples to be processed sequentially into the unit with data results printed out or downloaded to a network via the RS232 port. A maximum of 200 samples are able to be stored in the data register for later retrieval or archiving.

The Auto unit uses a cooling system to rapidly crystallise the small 50 µL sample volume with reproducibility of results within the <0.5% range. The automatic rapid measurement of results compared to the calibration standards is determined within the microprocessor system providing a fast, reliable determination of osmolality.

Data input can be via the keypad or the optional barcode reader. Once the sample has been processed, the information included on the printout includes batch number, sample number, patient number, time of measurement and the measuring result. This gives the laboratory or pathology department a document of results for later verification and validation.
