Biological Safety Cabinet

The Heraeus Herasafe HS 12 biological safety cabinet (Class II, type A/B3, according to NSF Standard 49) offers operator and sample protection.

A feature of the HS 12 is SampleGuard - an aerosol-tight, motor-driven front window that seals the inner chamber to protect users and samples. SampleGuard also eliminates the need for taping before decontamination.

The Hepa-Ulpa filter used in the HS 12 is rated at 99.999% for 0.3 µ particles. The main filter extends over the entire work area, and is protected against accidental damage by a metal laminator sheet.

The HS 12 maintains negative pressure in areas subject to a contamination risk. This ensures that particles are always returned to the pressure chamber and absorbed by the filter, even in the unlikely event of leakage.

Windows made from non-reflecting laminated safety glass ensure good all-round visibility, while ergonomic styling, glare-free lighting, adjustable arm rests and quiet running combine to optimise fatigue-free operation.

Other standard features include a monitoring system that clearly alerts the user in the event of a blower or filter failure, and a keypad lock to limit unauthorised access. Options for the HS 12 include flexible side panels available in stainless steel or polycarbonate, a choice of UV lights, different support stands, and a variety of service ports/electrical outlet locations. These options make the HS 12 fully customisable to meet specific laboratory requirements.
