The CFW-1310C is a high-resolution single chip colour digital camera that interfaces with both desktop and notebook computers through the IEEE 1394 or FireWire interface.

The camera has a 1360 x 1024 pixel resolution with a dynamic range of 10 bits. Images may be saved in either 24 or 30 bit formats. The frame rate of a full size image is a maximum of 7.5 frames a second.

It has a high-speed preview mode which is useful for precisely and rapidly focusing images. Analog gain control with amplification of low-level signals up to 100 times is provided. Also provided is exposure control with exposures from 10 ms to 100 s.

The device is suitable for both low-light and bright-field colour video microscopy, as well as photo documentation and publishing. It comes with several software support options.

Scion VisiCapture is a full-featured application for controlling the camera and capturing and saving images. Also provided is a TWAIN module for using the camera inside applications such as Photoshop. Software for the CFW-1310C is compatible with Windows XP and 2000, and Mac OS X.
