Digital Imaging for Microscopy

The Leica DC200 is a digital imaging system specifically designed for microscopy. The lightweight, compact camera head accepts all c-mount adapters. Digitisation occurs at the camera, minimising noise and allowing the use of a single cable connection to the computer.

The CCD of the Leica DC200, with the direct transfer of synchronised pixel information between camera and monitor and the use of an RGB primary colour mosaic filter, produces high colour fidelity and high resolution. The resultant image is suitable for measurement and analysis, as well as basic recording.

The HOTLink interface gives very fast transfer of data from camera to monitor, up to 18 images/sec for live images for continuous monitoring of focus, frame and contrast. Colour images can be downloaded in less than 1 second. Operation is quick and simple, using pull-down menus and icons.

Low-light fluorescence and polarisation images can be captured directly, using image integration for exposures up to 13 sec, while maintaining image quality and information content.

Various image archiving software can be used with the DC200 system, including the Leica IM-1000 professional image-management system.
