Gas alarm controller

Tuesday, 16 November, 2004

GasAlarm Systems has introduced the MSR PolyGard standalone gas alarm controller, with the option of integral gas sensor or remote gas sensor.

It has two adjustable alarm limits (lo, hi) and four potential free relay contacts to actuate external audio-visual alarms or ventilation fans.

The controller monitors the ambient air continuously for extreme concentrations of toxic or combustible gases and generates audio-visual alarm in case the gas concentration exceeds preset limits.

The unit has its own monitoring logic to detect power supply and sensor faults. A button can be used to reset the built-in buzzer (optional) and optional red dome flasher.

The controller operates on 24 V AC or DC and can be plugged in to a 240 VAC power with a plug-pack. It is designed for quick and easy mounting on a wall near the gas risk area.

The relay contacts are rated 5 A, 240 VAC.

The controller comes with the option of an integral or remote sensor for gases like natural gas, propane, butane, LPG, combustible solvents, CO, O2 deficiency, CO2, NH3, NO2, H2S, SO2, HCN, refrigerant gases and many more gas types.

For combustible gases the display can be bargraph in % LEL and for toxic gases LC display in PPM.
