The Linkam TS1500 High Temperature Stage is 104 x 95 x 29 mm. It produces a temperature range from ambient to 1500°C and contains a type S PI-10% Rh/P1 thermocouple. A 7 mm sapphire sample disc makes contact with the thermocouple to ensure an accurate temperature measurement from the sample.

Key features of the stage include an 8 mm Æ x 2.5 mm high sample chamber, with an optional 6 mm high chamber. The objective and condenser lenses provided minimum working distances of 6 and 14.8 mm respectively. Water cooling connections are supplied for the stage lid and body, while a gas tight chamber allows for both atmospheric control and the use of corrosive gases. Optional vacuum versions are also available.

The TMS 93/1500 programmer used to control the temperature of the stage houses a DC power supply to eliminate electromagnetic interference and solid state heater projection to prevent accidental damage to the stage.

The closed loop temperature system allows heating rates of up to 130°C/min and good thermal response. With this wide temperature range and automatic control, the TS1500 is suitable for materials, ceramics, metallurgy, geology and high temperature polymers.
