Laboratory Heat Sealer

Sunday, 15 September, 2002 | Supplied by: IDM Instruments

IDM Instruments has released a compact laboratory heat sealer designed for development work in determining the sealing properties and characteristics of plastics and laminated materials.

The heat sealer is electronically heated and both sealing bars have a temperature control capability up to 300°C. The teflon coated sealing bars, which are non-stick and easy to clean, can also be designed and manufactured to suit many individual applications.

The sealing pressure, which is initiated via two push-buttons powering a pneumatic cylinder, is adjustable via a regulator to a maximum sealing force of 280 kg/10 cm3.

A timer with 0-999.9 sec display can select the length of time the sealing pressure is applied.

This laboratory heat sealer is useful in many industries including film manufacturers, converters, printing ink companies, chemical companies, consumer product manufacturers, contract thermoformers and medical device manufacturers. It can evaluate the forming qualities of extruded films, new polymers, compounds and thermoformed trays with paper or metallised film lids. It can also be used for low volume production or to make package prototypes.
