Eppendorf has introduced three microcentrifuges, models 5418, 5424 and 5430, which have been designed to reduce operational noises, maximise potential operational speeds and offer intuitive operational panels.

The compact Centrifuge 5418 has a capacity for 18 x 1.5/2.0 mL tubes and achieves a maximum rcf of 16,873 x g/14,000 rpm. The 5418 centrifuge is suitable for users who demand a high quality centrifuge for processing a reduced number of samples.

The advanced Centrifuge 5424 accommodates 24 x 1.5/2.0 mL tubes and offers a maximum rcf of 20, 238 x g/14,680 rpm. The 5424 can be equipped with up to four different rotors: an aerosol tight standard 24 place rotor, a PCR strip rotor, a specially designed KIT rotor for processing spin columns and a special coated rotor for chemical resistance. Operation of the 5424 with or without a rotor lid has been made possible without having to compromise operational silence.

The versatile Centrifuge 5430 has a capacity for 30 x 1.5/2.0 mL tubes and can be equipped with up to eight different rotors accommodating the 1.5/2.0 mL Eppi tube, 15 and 50 mL Falcon tubes and MTP plates. Menu-guided operation in combination with available rotors makes the 5430 applicable for a wide range of applications. A maximum rcf of 30,130 x g/17,500 rpm is offered with Eppendorf safe lock tubes.

All microcentrifuges are supplied with a standard aerosol-tight rotor. For even better identification the aerosol-tight rotor lid is equipped with a red turning knob.
