Microscope Software

Carl Zeiss has two new modules for the AxioVision software that will improve presentations of microscope images.

Interactive Measurement offers all necessary measurement parameters from displaying lengths and distances to curves and angles, from shapes and calipers to events and markers. All results are presented on the image as an overlay and in a clear measurement list, which can be exported into Microsoft Excel. The archived images also contain the measurement data for easy accessibility.

The Extended Focus module for AxioVision allows the user to produce needle-sharp images throughout the whole depth of the object. This is made possible by the creating Z-stack images of the object at different focus positions and combining them with the Extended Focus module software.

The Z-stack images can be created either semi-automatically by the user, deciding on the plane of focus, or automatically with AxioVision and a motorised Zeiss microscope, or recalled from a personal archive. It is possible to produce images of thick specimens that are sharp for the entire depth of field.
