Powders, liquids and pastes can now be mixed within seconds with the dual asymmetric centrifuge (DAC)-SpeedMixer. Small material quantities (5-300 g) can be blended by the rotational movements of the mixer without having to clean any mixing elements.

The principle of the dual asymmetric centrifuge was designed to perform quick mixes of a wide variety of products, minimising the cleaning efforts after the blend is completed. This is achieved when the probe, which is contained in a disposable cup, undergoes a dual rotation: the mixing arm rotates with a variable speed of up to 3500 rpm while the tilted basket that holds the container spins in the opposite direction with about one quarter of the velocity of the arm. The probe only comes in contact with the disposable plastic container reducing the possibilities of contamination and no cleaning of the mixer or the container is necessary.

The high rotational velocities ensure a very fast and efficient mixing procedure so that simple homogenisation of components can be achieved in approximately 20 s.

Even high viscosity fluids or multi-component formulations can be blended quickly, homogeneously and bubble free. Also mixing powders or incorporating fillers into pastes or blending fluids with different viscosities and densities is easily achieved with the DAC-SpeedMixer.
