NDT Qualifications

Monday, 18 February, 2002 | Supplied by: NATA

NATA, the national laboratory accreditation agency, now requires formal qualifications for all non-destructive testing (NDT) operators.

There is a limit to the knowledge that can be passed on in-house, and technicians benefit from interaction with other NDT professionals. External training courses give them this opportunity. The courses broaden users' knowledge and understanding of NDT and its applications.

Mandatory qualifications are a way of ensuring a fundamental standard has been achieved. The Victorian NDT Industry has also endorsed mandatory qualifications by developing a career path that rewards qualifications and competence.
