Pocket-Sized Ophthalmoscopes

Heine Alpha+ ophthalmoscopes and retinoscopes are pocket-sized. The optical components of both instruments are mounted in metal frames for constant precision and long working life. Both instruments use compact Alpha+ handles for easy pocketability and both incorporate clips for user convenience.

The compact all-metal Alpha+ battery handles are designed for precise control of brightness and both instruments are dustproof for maintenance-free service.

The retinoscope is convenient to use, with practitioners not having to screen off dedicated areas. The Alpha+ ophthalmoscope features the bright white light of Heine's 3.5 V or 2.5 XHL halogen UV-free bulbs.

Features of the ophthalmoscopes include alternative aperture wheels, with one selection providing slit, hemispot, small spot and large spot, while the other provides hemispot, small spot, fixation star and large spot.

The ophthalmoscopes incorporate four apertures with separate selection of interference red-free filter. Suitable for small pupils, the filter provides increased contrast with each aperture.

The instruments' lens wheel and additional lenses provide good refraction compensation.
