A compact and truly portable spectroradiometer, which is powered by a USB connection and provides NIST traceable data to yield CRI (colour rendering in-dex) characterisation, has been introduced by International Light.

The IL RPS-380 portable spectroradiometer is a compact instrument that can perform colour repeatability and brightness sampling within a few seconds for measuring primary radiance and luminance. Suitable for testing LED display panels, illumination modules, and large signage to make certain all colour segments are equal, it provides data to yield CRI characterisation.

Designed for measurements in the 380 to 780 nm spectral range with 5 to 10 nm resolution, the IL RPS-380 spectroradiometer includes Windows compatible software with CIE chromaticity diagrams, dominant wavelength, and photoptic weighting calculations. Primary applications for this instrument including colour calibration, quality assurance, and lot-to-lot testing.
