The PXI/CompactPCI platform can be used to make high speed measurements on multiple channels with the PXI-6115 multifunction device, National Instruments' first 12-bit simultaneous sampling data acquisition device for PXI.

The high speed performance of the device can be used to record high-bandwidth signals, including signals from mobile telephony, radar, sonar and ultrasonic systems, as well as to analyse high frequency characteristics or transients within analogue or digital waveforms. The PXI-6115 device is capable of simultaneous high-speed analogue input and analogue output operations for stimulus response analysis, as well as correlated high-speed operations combining analogue, digital and counter/timer I/O. The simultaneous sampling capability of the device preserves the phase relationship between channels, which is often needed in high-speed data acquisition applications.

The PXI-6115 device features four 12-bit analogue input channels, two high-speed analogue output channels, analogue and digital triggering, eight digital I/O lines, and two 24-bit 20 MHz counter/timers.

The device uses onboard SRAM deep memory module to store sampled data. The device also uses deep memory as a buffer to facilitate high-speed continuous operations and streaming to disk.

It comes with NI-DAQ driver software, a programming interface for use with numerous programming environments and languages.

The PXI-6115 device integrates seamlessly with easy to use application software, including LabVIEW and Measurement Studio.
