The Hart Scientific Chub-E4, model 1529 thermometer readout which includes four channels for reading thermocouples, PRTs, or thermistors. Accuracy levels are high enough for laboratory use, while battery power makes the Chub-E4 well suited for field applications.
The Chub-E4 reads all common PRT configurations, kc9g 100 ohm and 25 ohm PRTs, with two, three or four wires. PRTs may be read using the standard DIN curve or individually calibrated probes may utilise ITS-90 coefficients for higher accuracy. Accuracy at 100°C is ±0.009°C. Thermistors may be read using the YSI-400 curve or Steinhart-Hart coefficients and are accurate to ±0.0025°C at 25°C. PRTs and thermistors connect to the Chub-E4 using Hart's DWF connectors.
Thermocouples may be read using internal or external reference junction compensation. All common types may be used including B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T and Au-Pt. Typical accuracy for a type J (as an example) is ±0.35°C at 600°C. A universal receptacle accepts both miniature and standard TC conrs.
The graphical LCDs the current temperature from all four inputs. Users may also select any eight data fields to view on-screen including statistical functions, probe information, T1-T2 functions, or utility functions such as the time, date and logging status. Screen configurations may be stored for simple recall.
Channels may be read sequentially or simultaneously at intervals ranging from 0.1 seconds to 1 hour and up to 8000 readings may be logged to multi. Power is supplied through standard AC sources or for up to eight hours using an internal rechargeable NiMH battery.
The Chub-E4 comes in three configurations: four TC inputs, four PRT/thermistor inputs, or two of each. Data logging and analysis software is available. An RS-232 interface is included and IEEE is optional. A carrying case, rack mount kit and serial printer are also available.
