Tissue microarray analysis software

Tissue microarrays (TMAs) considerably facilitate the immunohistochemical sample processing. Instead of incubating samples one slide at a time, hundreds of tissues can be assayed with just one slide.

Previously the tedious process of manual microscopy and semi-quantitative scoring of stained TMA slides has remained the standard method of analysing TMA experiments. TMAx analysis software is designed to remove this bottleneck and provide an automated, consistent solution for collecting cellular protein expression data from tissue microarrays.

TMAx software is built on object-oriented image analysis technology. In this approach, image objects are classified based on logical rules that rely on several spectral, morphological and relational features derived both from the objects themselves, as well as from the surrounding neighbour objects. This strategy effectively translates the human approach of recognising abnormal cells from normal tissue structures into executable computing processes.

Key features of the TMAx analysis software include automated extraction and classification of disease structures from TMA images, measurement of experimental staining parameters from disease structures, importing of images from any acquisition station and exporting of result files.
