Azure Biosystems imagers cover the full spectrum of capabilities for documentation and quantitative analysis of gels, western blots, slides, tissue samples, small animal models, plants and more. Some of the many applications include fluorescent western blots, chemiluminescent western blots, agarose gels, DNA gels, stain-free gels, PAGE gels, native protein gels, 2D gels, bacterial plates, yeast plates, gels dyed with SYBR and other ‘safe’ dyes, multiplex fluorescent western blots, in-gel fluorescence, viral load in tissues and small animal models, and distribution of reporter gene expression in tissues and small animal models.
Choose from one of the Azure imagers for general lab imaging needs or the Sapphire Biomolecular Imager for high flexibility and performance on blots, gels, plates, microarrays, phosphor imaging, tissue and small animal models. Azure’s family of imagers offers fast, sensitive, high-resolution, 9 MP, CCD-based detection in a small, benchtop-friendly footprint. Choose from the 200/300/400/500/600 series. The Azure imaging systems are multichannel, multimodal imagers with near-infrared, visible light and UV excitation channels. They can detect Cy dyes, Alexa dyes, Safe dyes, Trihalo compound-based gels, and more.
The basic 200 model is for streamlined gel documentation and densitometry (white light, blue light and UV). Upgrade to the 300 to add the ability to detect chemiluminescence at the same sensitivity as film. The 300 is also upgradable to the 400, which adds visible (RGB) fluorescence detection, or the 500 for infrared laser excitation for quantitative western blot imaging in the NIR. All of these models can be upgraded to the 600, which combines all of these detection modes — white light, blue light, UV, chemiluminescence, visible fluorescence and NIR fluorescence — in a single powerful instrument.
For labs that need high levels of imaging performance — including sensitivity (pg to fg), resolution (down to 10 μm), dynamic range (over 6-log) and field of view (25 x 25 cm scannable area) — or want an imager that can keep up with their diverse and dynamic research needs, Azure offers the Sapphire Biomolecular Imager. The instrument combines three-detector design with the background-minimising, focused excitation of a laser scanner. The result is a hybrid laser scanner–CCD imager that delivers chemiluminescent detection, visible and NIR fluorescence detection, and phosphorimaging.
The instruments offer chemiluminescent detection that’s designed to be just as sensitive as film but easier and more quantitative; two NIR lasers (660 and 785 nm) that keep signal high and background low; and efficient multiplex detection with three visible fluorescence channels and/or two NIR fluorescence channels.
