The Scientifica InVivoStar micromanipulator has been designed to offer stability and precision for in vivo multielectrode electrophysiology recordings, enabling users to obtain high-quality data in experiments.

The product’s universal compatibility with multielectrode probes like Neuropixels, Neuronexus and Atlas streamlines set-ups, eliminating the need for holder adjustments. It has been designed to provide ample workspace where it matters, while ultralow electronic noise enables undisturbed samples and clean signals, boosting data quality and research efficiency.

The micromanipulator uses a distinctively shaped clamping bracket linked to the positioning manipulator via a long but rigid mounting arm which enables stability. The stable manipulator body is mounted well away from the sample, giving researchers space to work (different arm options are available).

The micromanipulator is easily mounted on an antivibration table, a magnetic base, a Scientifica or homemade stage or anywhere else the user would like, offering flexibility for various experimental environments. Digital angle readout of the approach via LinLab software means the electrode can be positioned at the exact area of interest, enabling optimal recording.

With a simple movement, the user can effortlessly position electrodes in and out of the experiment. This ergonomic feature enhances user comfort and helps prevent accidental electrode damage during handling.

The product’s low audible noise, both during motor operation and at rest, means any sensitive samples remain undisturbed by audible noise, improving the quality of the electrophysiological data. Its high stability means the user should be able to maintain precise brain positioning for long-term experiments, with uninterrupted data collection.
