The Watson LIMS is a protocol-driven laboratory information management system designed to support bioanalytical studies in drug development. The system was developed with input from major pharmaceutical companies and offers an easy-to-use process with a high level of service
Watson uses a central Oracle database and offers a simple, point-and-click graphical interface. The system helps promote compliance with GLP regulations and the 21 CFR Part 11 guidance. The security and audit trail tools are designed to provide maximum flexibility and configurability for users while preserving data integrity.
The LIMS is capable of handling standard and complex study protocols, providing audit trails to track deviations and amendments to each study. It has full bi-directional interface capability to analytical instruments, tracks shipments and samples through user-designed bar code labels, supports a range of PK/TK analyses and organises study results in a document management system. It also supports unit management, allowing data consolidation across studies and projects.
The LIMS provides automated sample management; assay/method standardisation and management; data exchange, import and instrument interfacing; data analysis and reporting systems; and robust security and regulatory compliance.
