Rescentris CERF (collaborative electronic research framework) software

The Rescentris CERF (collaborative electronic research framework) is a scalable, cross-platform software solution that helps life sciences and other R&D organisations migrate away from paper-based record-keeping to increase efficiency and collaboration. It combines Enterprise Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Content Management System (ECM) technology that secures data in 21CFR11-compliant servers hosted behind the firewall or in cloud-based SaaS systems.

The research platform is used in diverse disciplines including biotech, pharma, clinical, research, forensics, government, universities, medical devices and engineering. Designed to support the R&D enterprise and all its stakeholder’s needs, it meets requirements of all departments including IT and informatics, legal and regulatory, R&D management, and research.

CERF’s features are wrapped in the CERF OS and database-independent application, providing cross-platform compatibility for Mac and PC users alike, as well as satisfying IT infrastructure requirements.

At its core, CERF is a document management system that promotes sharing and collaboration with many levels of security that are easily configured by end users. Beyond the core system, CERF contains a robust plug-in architecture, enabling end users to visualise many different scientific file formats directly in their notebooks. Training record management tools and discipline-specific modules, including chemistry and inventory management, support diverse needs in the lab.

CERF’s latest version introduces a dedicated Apple iPad and iPhone client application to support mobile researchers. Integrated chemical substructure search and molecular visualisation modules are available, as are secure cloud-based records archiving and preservation, controlled document management and SOP workflows, an offline ELN client, rules-based distributed data management and ‘print to CERF/send to CERF’ functionality.
