Wednesday, 04 April, 2012 | Supplied by: Symbion

Symbion Systems has announced the release of its SII-TSTP01 Driver for the Thermo Scientific TruProcess Near-IR Analyzer. The driver enables the TruProcess instrument to be interfaced to the Symbion-DX and Symbion-RX software suites as well the Thermo Scientific GRAMS-RT suite for deployment in online chemical and pharmaceutical process analytical technology (PAT) environments.

The analyser has been developed to provide the next-generation near-infrared (NIR) spectrometer for real-time blend analysis, drying and other PAT applications. The availability of the driver expands the capabilities of the analyser to include the broad functionalities of the Symbion-DX and RX and GRAMS-RT software suites for chemical and process development as well as online process control within a regulated environment.

The addition of the Symbion and GRAMS-RT functionalities allows the analysers to operate as autonomous systems for continuous chemical process analysis, provided with complete sample system control, database storage (including store and forward capability), and integral chemometric modelling and prediction.

Symbion-DX and RX and GRAMS-RT provide standardised platforms for controlling a wide range of spectrometers and other analytical instruments. They feature extensive data manipulation and application development capabilities as well as the ability to communicate with numerous third-party programs and enterprise-wide data systems.

These programs streamline the development of comprehensive analytical methods encompassing instrument and sample system control, data analysis, process trending, database archiving and reporting to enterprise-wide data systems. Each method is permanently stored in the underlying Oracle database and is under full version control, compliant with 21 CFR Part 11. Once validated, a method can be recalled from the database and downloaded for deployment at multiple instrumentation locations.

Symbion-DX and RX and GRAMS-RT provide all of the instrumentation capabilities required for online process analysis and integration into systems for PAT.
