Vibration and acoustics analysis
The Ace-Quattro vibration and acoustics analyser from Data Physics is portable and is claimed to provide 40 times faster data and signal transfers as well as provide nanometer displacement measurements.
By using the appropriate sensors, displacement down to 1 nm can be measured.
The measurements are made with sensitive seismic accelerometers but even using mechanical engineering in-dustry standard accelerometers displacements of 500 nm can be measured.
Displacement is measured as an acceleration and integrated to either velocity and displacement automatically in the analyser.
Ace-Quattro weighs 475 g and provides real-time analysis of sound and vibration with a dynamic range of more than 120-130 dB due to its true 24 bit analog-to-digital converter and a real-time rate of 107 or 205 kS/s. The high resolution enables signals to be resolved down to 3 ng at 100 Hz providing displacements measurements to 1 nm using an appropriate sensor. Using a standard industry accelerometer with a sensitivity of 1 V/g, displacement measurements down to between 0.5 to 2 µm are achievable.
At the high end, the instrument provides analysis in two bandwidths of 40 or 97 kHz. It provides 3200 spectral lines as standard with an option to go up to 25,600 lines or as high as the computer platform can process.
The outstanding feature is the USB2 interface connection to the host computer, notebook or desktop. USB2 provides file transfers 40 times faster than USB1 or 1.1. USB2 runs at 480 Mbps compared with 12 Mbps by USB1x.
The high-speed communication capability of USB2 enables simultaneous signal analysis over four channels, parallel output over two channels, Tachy signals and power supply to the Quattro hardware from the computer to proceed without conflict.
