Endangered fish stocks and insider e-threats amongst research funding for Vic
Managing endangered fish stocks, improving our personal security online and discovering how migration is changing the financial services industry labour market are amongst 55 Victorian university research projects that have received $14.45m in Australian Government Linkage Projects funding.
Using a $91,000 grant, the University of Melbourne will develop statistical modelling to assess the impact of habitat restoration on stocks of endangered native fish like Murray Cod, Trout Cod, Silver Perch and Golden Perch.
RMIT University will use a $255,000 proposal to develop methods of detecting internal threats to e-commerce, database and communications security, securing the public’s information against exposure and identity theft.
Victoria University will use a $127,781 grant to study the barriers migrants face seeking work in the financial services industry and discover how migration is changing the sector’s labour market.
