SGE - Exporter of the Year
Australian owned, technical-based manufacturer for the global analytical science industry, SGE International was named Victorian Exporter of the Year 2005 at the 2005 Governor of Victoria Export Awards.
Founded in the early 1960s as Scientific Glass Engineering, SGE is a privately owned company which started in a garage within the backyard of a house in the suburbs of Melbourne.
Today, supported by a specialised team of R&D, engineering, marketing, production and logistic professionals located in nine countries, and a range of channel partners that provide a global service and support network and worldwide distribution, the SGE product portfolio includes analytical and life science consumables for scientific, analytical instrumentation, specifically gas chromatography, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
With significant growth over the past three years attributed to focused global strategies in the areas of gas and liquid chromatography and mass spectroscopy, SGE's exports now account for more than 97% of the group's global revenue.
SGE is committed as a partner to many analytical instrument and distribution organisations, to delivering solutions that make companies more competitive, flexible and robust. This business mode is applied not just for large international organisations, but also for small and medium-sized businesses operating within the Australian domestic markets.
To support this, SGE has built a solid global network which covers the entire solution life cycle, from consulting to implementation and support. This network bundles the client's business strategy with SGE's core competencies: intellectual property, manufacturing resources and production flexibility.
