Trade mission in US open to NSW businesses
NSW businesses and research organisations in the life sciences sector are being encouraged to join a trade mission to the United States that will coincide with the world’s largest biotechnology tradeshow.
Deputy Director General for Trade, Business and Industry Barry Buffier said the trade mission will visit New York, Indianapolis and Washington, DC where this year’s Bio International Convention will be held.
“I encourage NSW research organisations and businesses in the life sciences and biotechnology sector to register their interest to join the trade mission and to apply for the NSW Government assistance available,” Buffier said.
“The Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services will facilitate a comprehensive program of events and networking opportunities for companies and research organisations. We are also offering assistance up to $4750 for each NSW company or organisation that exhibits at the Bio International Convention.
“Scientific research is critical for creating smart businesses of the future that are innovative and productive,” Buffier said.
More than 1700 exhibitors are expected to participate in the 2011 Bio International Convention, which annually attracts more than 15,000 people from over 65 countries.
