Asynt has introduced the CondenSyn Mini — a high-performance air condenser optimised for small-scale synthetic chemical reactions performed in 5, 10 and 25 mL flasks.
Just 20 cm long and fitted with a B14 adapter, the product is said to provide comparable vapour condensing performance to a Liebig water condenser but requires no cooling water for operation. While condensers cooled by circulating water are effective, their constant need for running tap water creates environmental issues.
The CondenSyn is a high-surface-area air condenser which is both safe and operationally effective. Its robust design uses a borosilicate glass manufacturing technique which, together with a multiple hyperbolic profile, ensures optimum heat removal as vapours pass along its length. The product additionally incorporates a non-roll feature to help prevent accidents if left on a lab bench. Offering clear visibility of ongoing experimental reflux, the device is easy to clean and maintain.
