Asynt DrySyn heating block attachments for magnetic stirring hotplates

The DrySyn range of heating blocks from Asynt allows even heating of round-bottom flasks, simply by adding a heating block to existing flat-plated hotplates. The range is a flexible, modular system giving the user control over temperature and the ability to use one hotplate for multiple reactions.

In the past, the only method to achieve even heat distribution around a round-bottom flask was oil baths; however, the inherent fire risk and flashpoint of silicon oil are risks that chemists had to take to ensure their results were consistent. Heating blocks offer the same even heating without the risk of fire and the annoyance of cleaning up inevitable oil spills. As no oil is needed, the company says the product helps to save the environment and reduce the laboratory footprint.

The options in the DrySyn range fit any hotplate stirrer base and are all solvent and chemical resistant. The range has components available separately or as kits, with extra inserts added to build a flexible system able to cope with any project or set-up. The company also supplies a range of accessories, such as multi-clamp - which allows clamping of up to three flasks for safe and secure removal from the heat source - a safety lifting handle and many more.
