Sentry Temperature Control Unit (TCU) system

A temperature control unit (TCU) provides controlled temperature water (coolant) to a group of secondary sample coolers in order to ensure closely controlled sample temperatures. Sentry TCU systems are predesigned, prepiped packages available in sizes from 3-15 t, air- or water-cooled. The unit cools water at a precisely controlled temperature with ±0.5°C accuracy.

The air-cooled TCU uses a fan-type, air-cooled condenser to reject heat from the refrigeration cycle. The product has a wide condenser cooling water temperature range of 13-41°C. Options are available as low as -1°C or as high as 46°C. An optional heater provides an additional warming capacity for subcooled samples.

The unit uses a closed loop pressurised coolant circulating system with ODP centrifugal pump. This ensures that the water stays clean, with no corrosion or fouling of heat transfer surfaces. Local display provides a quick operational snapshot and a PLC controller has a display of all required operational data.

The product is self-contained with all necessary controls, pumping and refrigeration systems. No extra piping is required other than connecting and all components are easily accessible for service. Each system undergoes a factory run-in under a range of heat loads, in which measurements are taken of critical parameters and recorded for future reference.
