Scitek has announced its partnership with Alicat Scientific, a manufacturer of mass flow controllers, to precisely measure and control the flow of gases and liquids. Applications range from process control in thin film deposition through basic reaction control in chemistry to environmental testing.

Alicat manufactures analog and digital mass flow meters and controllers which can be set up and operated without the need of special power supplies or control boxes. The MC series mass flow controllers can be configured with an accuracy spec of up to ±(0.4% of reading + 0.2% of full scale) with a high-accuracy calibration. Standard calibrations are rated at ±(0.8% of reading + 0.2% of full scale).

The units have very few moving parts. All of the internal components are fixed in place, resulting in very little physical change inside. Little physical change in the flow cavity means higher rates of consistency and repeatability. The series has a repeatability of ±0.2% of full scale.

The product has a response time of less than 10 ms and a control time of 100 ms. It features an onboard controller which is easy to use. All parameters are displayed in real time. 30 gases and gas mixes are preprogrammed to reduce set-up times and make life easy for new users.
