Atago RX-5000i automatic digital refractometer

The Atago RX-5000i is an automatic digital refractometer for the measurement of refractive index, Brix and various liquid concentrations. The device has a measurement accuracy level of Brix ±0.03% and refractive index ±0.00004, and features touch-screen navigation and a USB port.

There are also four levels of access control, the ability to add user-defined scales and the ability to recall the last 500 measurements.

The device features four measurement modes, providing the flexibility for users to choose the style most suited to the sample. Mode-1 displays the measurement value once the sample reaches the target temperature, providing maximum accuracy. Mode-2 measures refractive index and temperature at fixed intervals and displays the estimated measurement value at the target temperature, providing fast results. Mode-S is suited for emulsion samples and displays the measurement value once a certain level of sample stability has been achieved. Mode-3 provides an option to turn the thermo-module off. Without temperature control, the measurement value is displayed in 4 s after the start key has been pressed.
