BD Falcon culture slides provide a suitable surface for any study requiring a small, accessible culture area. In-situ analysis allows the user to culture cells in a plastic chamber affixed to a specially prepared glass microscope slide and then analyse them on the slide. A polystyrene chamber is affixed to the slide. A safety removal tool is used to separate wells from the slide, facilitating further processing or placement of a coverslip.
Also in the company’s range of culture slides are the BioCoat culture slides, which are part of the line of tissue-culture vessels containing a variety of extracellular matrices (ECM) proteins and attachment factors. Various ECM proteins, including collagen I, fibronectin and laminin, are applied to the slide and coverslips resulting in a uniform, optically clear matrix substrate. Poly lysine BioCoat options are also available independently and in combination with selected ECM proteins.
The Falcon variety pack of culture slides includes three culture slides: collagen I, fibronectin, poly-D-lysine and an uncoated control slide (12 slides per pack). Applications include promotion of cell attachment, spreading, proliferation and differentiation of many cell types; cell adhesion assays; improving survival of primary cells in culture.
