Biosensis’s PrecisionMRX nanoparticles are superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles with uniform spherical morphology, narrow size dispersity and high magnetic relaxivity. To achieve high quality, the company uses Imagion Biosystems’ thermal decomposition process, which is said to allow precise control over the size, shape and magnetic properties of the nanoparticles. The manufacturing process is robust and produces high-quality magnetite (Fe3O4) core nanoparticles with minimal batch-to-batch variability.
The nanoparticles are made specifically for the demands of biomedical applications and are available with a variety of coatings to facilitate their uses, such as oleic acid, carboxylic acid, mPEG and dextran. Key applications include superparamagnetic relaxometry, magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic particle imaging, magnetically induced hyperthermia, vaccine adjuvants, drug delivery and more.
The nanoparticle products are distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Sapphire Bioscience.
