The FO 0015 A and FO 0035 A Fossa scroll vacuum pumps provide consistently high vacuum levels with low noise and vibration levels. They can be widely used for analytical and scientific applications.

The scroll vacuum pumps are hermetically sealed and 100% oil-free, and they provide a high level of efficiency. Very little maintenance is required as there are no shaft seals and they are equipped with lifetime-lubricated bearings.

The vacuum pumps are suitable for pumping air or conveying gases without leakage or ambient air contamination, so they can be used in areas such as laboratories. They are suitable for generating fine vacuum in load lock or transfer chambers, helium leak detectors, mass spectrometers, electron microscopes and other analytical devices.

The scroll vacuum pumps consist of both a fixed and orbiting scroll. As the orbiting scroll moves, voids are created at the inlet of the pump, drawing in the gas. As the rotor further moves, the gas is steadily compressed until it is discharged to the atmosphere at the pump exhaust.

The leak-tight design (≤1x10-6 mbar L/s) helps prevent contamination of the pumped gas by ambient air. The larger of the two sizes provides a maximum pumping speed of 35 m3/h at 50 Hz and an ultimate pressure of ≤2x10-2 mbar. A gas ballast valve is provided and a connector is also available.
