The A40B precision current shunt set features a range of precision devices designed to simplify the task of making precision current measurements in the laboratory. The set comprises 14 low-inductance coaxial current shunts, adapters and connectors and a rugged transit/storage case.

Designed for currents from 1 mA to 100 A, the current shunts are for laboratory use in making directly measured absolute AC or DC current measurements as well as AC/DC current transfer measurements. The shunts feature high resistance value stability, a decent self-heating power coefficient and low-temperature coefficient.

The construction and components used in the current shunts ensure that the frequency response is flat and provides a phase displacement of 100 kHz.

The shunts are suitable for traditional precision current applications such as calibrator verification. The wide current range allows verification of high current transconductance amplifiers. The low phase shift error is suitable for measuring non-sinusoidal wave shapes, as found in power quality or sampling digital wattmeter measurement applications.

Shunt resistance is designed to minimise interaction with detector instrumentation. The radial-style shunt design gives high performance with minimal external magnetic fields. The open nature of the design increases airflow and lowers power coefficient effects. This permits each shunt to be used over a wide range of currents with stable resistance characteristics.

Each shunt comes with a report of traceable calibration, including data. 17025A accredited calibration reports are also available. The set includes a variety of connectors and adapters for connection to other test instruments. A fibreglass case is available for transportation and storage.
