Dynamica Velocity V18R refrigerated general centrifuge

The Dynamica Velocity 18R centrifuge delivers high-capacity, refrigerated centrifugation with a maximum speed of 18,000 rpm (27,070 x g) in a bench centrifuge.

Screwing or bolting rotors to the drive shaft is not necessary: simply place the rotor on the drive shaft and the auto lock and secure mechanism performs the rest. Once centrifugation is complete, lift the rotor off the drive shaft. Automatic rotor recognition and confirmation ensures the user cannot incorrectly set rotor parameters.

The high torque drive technology accelerates rotors to terminal velocity. Nine preset acceleration and deceleration profiles ensure good separation even for delicate density gradients. A flexible drive shaft allows for greater imbalance tolerances, so samples can be balanced simply with the naked eye.

The refrigeration system uses a non-CFC compressor to cool the chamber while maintaining the rotor at a set temperature during centrifugation. Twin cooling fans - one each for the compressor and motor - dissipate heat to improve cooling efficiency and extend motor life.

Non-contact imbalance detection and shutdown are based on the run profile for each rotor across its entire speed range. A heavy-duty guard barrier ensures safety in the event of a rotor or drive failure, and dual lid electronic interlocks ensure the user cannot access the rotor chamber until the rotor has stopped. An auto-hinge offers good chamber sealing and easy door opening and closing. Automatic overspeed detection and shutdown ensures rotors are not overextended and a motor overheat detection and shutdown system protects the drive motor.

Parameters are entered through the touch pad interface and displayed on the backlit LCD panel, which displays all experimentation parameters including diagnostic information as it occurs. Once centrifugation has commenced, a real-time graphic profile of the centrifugation status is displayed.

Noise-abating insulation in the console reduces the audible operating noise to a comfortable ≤58 dB. Interchangeable fixed angle and swing bucket rotors mean the product can centrifuge every sample type: from 0.2 mL tubes and strips through to 250 mL bottles and microtitre plates.
