Hitachi Himac CR22N high-speed, large-volume centrifuge

Thursday, 03 July, 2014 | Supplied by: Scientifix Pty Ltd

The Himac CR22N refrigerated centrifuge complements the family of high-speed and ultra-centrifuges from Hitachi. The product features a 6 L capacity rotor capable of handling 4 x 1.5 L wide mouth bottles at speeds up to 8500 rpm and 15,100 xg. The rotor can be autoclaved at 121°C.

The floor-standing unit offers touch screen technology and the self-locking rotor system makes changing rotors easy. A host of safety features means the device will not allow operation in an unsafe mode and eye balancing of tubes is all that is needed for safe operation. Any errors on start-up are immediately identified and the instrument operation is halted until the error situation is corrected.

Over 80% of the product has been constructed from recycled materials. Environmentally friendly refrigerants are used and the refrigeration system uses inverter technology for energy-efficient and effective refrigeration.

An Eco mode of operation conserves power if the system is not in use after a settable wait time, dropping energy use by 83%. Regenerative braking on the power drive for the centrifuge is used to turn wasted heat into usable electricity to further reduce the power used by the system during operation.

A wide array of interchangeable rotors ensures that the product is a suitable multiuser, high-speed centrifuge for the user’s lab.
