Merck Milli-Q EQ 7008/16 ultrapure and pure water purification system
Merck has launched its Milli-Q EQ 7008/16 ultrapure and pure water purification system, demonstrating its commitment to meeting the purified water needs of every scientist. The product will replace the existing Milli-Q Direct systems.
The system produces consistent ultrapure (Type 1) water quality direct from a tap water source and includes an option to obtain reverse osmosis (RO, Type 3) quality water. Final ultrapure water quality can be easily adapted to experimental requirements through a selection of final filters. Dedicated innovations make the system convenient and effortless to use.
The product features flexible set-up options, as the touchscreen display and dispenser may be wall mounted or placed up to 3 m from the system, saving valuable bench space. Its ‘Check & Dispense’ lights, located on the Q-POD dispenser arm, rapidly monitor and confirm the quality of all liquid dispensed. The redesigned total organic carbon (TOC) indicator measures TOC at the point of use, providing assurance that organic contamination is below 5 ppb.
Other design elements include: patented polishing cartridges for consistently high-quality ultrapure water; high-definition digital displays to simplify system operation; convenient handling with a range of easily accessible dispensing options; smaller system footprints and purification cartridges versus Merck’s previous-generation Milli-Q systems; hibernation mode to minimise water and energy consumption when the lab is closed for extended periods; and a space-saving design that can be easily integrated and neatly installed for a clutter-free workspace.
