Torrey Pines Scientific has released the EchoTherm Models SC20XR and XT Digital and SC25XR and XT programmable orbital mixing chilling/heating dry baths with extended temperature range and extended power.

The units can chill colder and heat hotter and move from one temperature to the next quicker than prior models. The XT models can go from -20 to 100 °C and the XR models can go from -10 to 110 °C. The XR model has twice the power as prior units and is claimed can go from one temperature to the next 50% faster.

The orbital shaking motion is adjustable from 100 to 1000 rpm and is readable on a backlit two-line display.

Both units are digitally controlled. The SC25 is fully programmable and can store five routines of 10 steps each in memory for immediate recall and use. Both have 30-day countdown timers with alarm and user settable auto-off, RS232 I/O port for data collection or for control via a PC. Both have built-in data loggers.

All models use the same sample blocks for assay plates, centrifuge tubes, vials, test tubes and more.

The units are suitable for use in molecular biology laboratories and are UL, CSA and CE compliant.
