Thursday, 25 March, 2010 | Supplied by: Metrohm Australia & New Zealand

The Retsch Grindomix GM 300 knife mill is suitable for food sample preparation. The knife mill can be used to homogenise up to 4.5 L quantities, quickly and reproducibly.

The mills are claimed to meet and exceed all special laboratory and analytical requirements. They process substances with a high water, oil or fat content as quickly and reliably as dry, soft, medium-hard and fibrous products.

The handling of the GM 300 is simple and safe. The container can be filled and emptied outside the mill, which makes cleaning very easy and helps to avoid cross-contamination by possible sample residues. Moreover, all parts of the GM 300 which come into contact with the sample material are autoclavable.

The rapid and gentle size reduction and homogenisation can be achieved with minimum standard deviation. Speed control of the device is variable with speeds from 500 to 5000 rpm. All of the grinding tools are autoclavable. Volume adaptation of the grinding chamber is possible by using special lids.
