Sterile valve connections

Colder Products Company has released the Steam-Thru II Connections, which provides a sterile connection between disposable systems and existing stainless steel processing equipment.

The connection incorporates a repositionable valve that extends steam-in-place capability to two cycles. The flexibility of ‘steam on’ and ‘steam off’ functionality minimises contamination concerns and increases operational efficiency.

Featuring a 3-port design, the device can be mounted directly to hard-plumbed systems to create a sterile connection for single-use feeding, harvesting and sampling systems. It increases operational efficiency by decreasing process downtime for maintenance and cleaning.

The connection offers industry standard sanitary terminations and is available in 2 and 3.8 cm tri-clamp. Hose barbs connect to 1.25 ID tubing. Operating temperatures range from 4 to 40°C in flow position and up to 135°C for 60 min in steam position.
