The Spinpak Assortment with Spinbar Restrainer offers octagonal magnetic stirring bars in 12.5, 25.5, 38 and 51 mm lengths in either a 3.2 or 8 mm diameter.
The white, yellow, blue and red colours provide a contrast with mixing solutions and a method for designating ownership or specific stirring solutions. A moulded pivot ring reduces friction and chattering, while the eight-sided profile is designed to provide greater surface area and added turbulence compared to smooth cylindrical bars.
The stirring bars contain Alnico V magnets to achieve strong vortexes with less ‘spin-out’. They are coated in teflon PTFE for increased chemical resistance.
The restrainer fits comfortably in one hand and can attract and hold stirring bars up to 80 mm long when held against the outer wall of a mixing vessel. It helps prevent splashing hazards while decanting and facilitates easy and safe stirring bar retrieval.
