Thermoline TR series spark-proof refrigerators and freezers

Thursday, 21 January, 2010 | Supplied by: Thermoline Scientific Equipment Pty Ltd

Storing volatile samples in standard refrigerators and freezers can be dangerous, which is why Thermoline has designed and manufactured a series of spark-proof cabinets. All models are safe for many volatile products and meet the Ex’n ‘non-sparking’ equipment requirements. Additionally, the refrigeration compressor is fitted with a special spark-proof start mechanism in case any flammable vapours are present outside the refrigerator at floor level.

Designed to allow the safe storage of many volatile materials, no electrical devices are inside the workspace, therefore no source of ignition with flammable vapours is present.

In reference to AS/NZS60079.10:2004 for zoning of hazardous areas: for zone 2 classification it is recommended that a refrigerator or freezer be located 300 mm above floor level. The model TRF-SP stand suits all spark-proof refrigerator and freezer models offered to raise them to a minimum of 300 mm above the floor as required.

The TR series refrigerators are available in two sizes, 130 and 240 L in capacity. Both can operate in the temperature range of +2 to +6°C.

The TF series freezers are also available in two sizes, 90 litre and 181 litre capacities, and can operate within the temperature ranges of -15 and -20°C.

Temperature control is by an electronic digital display unit located at the top front of the cabinet.

A spark-proof start relay is supplied in the lower section of the cabinet to provide further protection to the compressor.
