BioTek Instruments ELx405 Select Deep Well Washer

BioTek Instruments has launched the ELx405 Select Deep Well Washer, a robot-compatible, full plate washer for automated aspirate and dispense steps in 96- and 384-well plates up to 50 mm high. It can also accommodate standard 15 mm microplates and delivers increased washing efficiency compared to manual and handheld methods.

The ELx405 Select Deep Well Washer also features BioTek’s Dual-Action manifold for independent and precise aspirate/dispense control and variable flow rates and angled dispensing for optimised cell washing. Washing protocols may be created and run through the familiar keypad interface or through BioTek’s LHC Software. Additionally, optional Ultrasonic Advantage integrated ultrasonic cleaners provide manifold self-maintenance. Optional automatic 1-to-4 wash buffer switching further enhances efficiency.

Typical applications that can now be automated include: plasmid DNA purification, serum/plasma sample preparation, haematopoietic progenitor cell enumeration and cell proliferation assays.
